Cyclops (Cyclops vicinus) are just one of the many copepod species and are a member of the larger meso-zooplankton occurring in brackish ponds and canals.
As is the case with rotifers, Cyclops are mainly administered to reef aquaria where they will be fed upon by filter-feeders such as corals, clams, sea anemones etc. as well as marine fish fry and small fish. Naturally, they can also be fed to community aquaria for feeding freshwater fry and small fish.
The harvested Cyclops are transported to our facility in early morning where they undergo a succession of sieving steps before being packaged in blisters, quick-frozen, cased out and stored in our cold storage. Only hours pass inbetween the time the Cyclops are harvested and the time they are frozen.
Available in sleeved (cardboard) and sealed (aluminum foil) blisters (rigid vinyl) in 2 sizes:
All blisters are frozen individually in our quick-freezer. Each sleeve contains a lot code and date of expiry for tracking purposes. Samples of each lot are submitted to an accredited laboratory for Salmonella analyses before being sold.
