Some people frequently have troubles popping out a cube form a frozen blister pack.

HOW TO RESOLVE?

People do not need to be a bodybuilder or MacGyver. The strong bond between the frozen contents of a blister and the thermoformed rigid vinyl (i.e. the ‘blister plastic’) can be easily broken by providing a little bit of heat to the outside of a frozen cube. A small amount of heat is enough to allow you to effortlessly pop out the cube. You can warm up the outside of a cube through either:

  • Rubbing it with your thumb and index finger for a few seconds just before use.
  • Cutting off a cube and leaving it to defrost for a couple of minutes.
  • Running a bit of lukewarm water over the cubes just before use (when using a couple of cubes).

RECOMMENDATIONS

Always make sure people to refrain from:

  1. Taking too many frozen blisters or cubes out of the freezer. Only the required amount of cubes may be removed from the freezer compartment; remaining cubes need to be put back in the freezer ASAP.
  2. Thawing a complete blister pack. Should it have thawed out by accident (e.g. having forgotten about it), it will either need to be used up or thrown away. Thawed blisters should never be refrozen!
  3. Splitting, slicing or shaving a frozen cube using a (razor) knife. Not only can people seriously hurt themselves, but cutting a cube will cause the product to leach substantially. We specifically started marketing 50 g blisters so smaller cubes containing a smaller food portion would become available to people.
  4. We've seen Youtube video’s of people using a cheese grater to grate our frozen bloodworms cubes. Naturally, we strongly advise against grating any of our products as this will result in the body fluids leaching out of the bloodworms. If the fish to be fed are too small to feed on regular bloodworms, other feeds such as mini-bloodworms, brine shrimp, Cyclops, rotifers or Mysis can be used.
